26-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Hit By Car

The victim, 26-year-old Mitchell Jefferson, was taken to the hospital and died due to severe injuries, police said. Police said they are investigating this case as a homicide.

TULSA, Okla. -

A 26-year-old man has died after being hit by a car in Tulsa, according to police.

Officers said they responded to a collision involving a pedestrian near 1800 N. Yorktown Ave. on Saturday, March 16.

The victim, 26-year-old Mitchell Jefferson, was taken to the hospital and died due to severe injuries, police said.

Police said they learned through their investigation that Jefferson was inside of a car completing some sort of transaction. When he tried to get out of the vehicle, the driver sped up the car, and Jefferson was run over, police said.

Witnesses said the driver's actions appeared to be intentional, police said. Detectives said they are investigating this case as a homicide.
