Aniyah Robinson Named 2024 White House HBCU Scholar

Aniyah Robinson is a senior at Langston University, and she’s been named a 2024 White House HBCU Scholar.

HBCU stands for Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

This White House initiative honors students who excel academically and make a strong impact on campus and in the community.

Robinson is a journalism student recognized for her work writing for the campus newspaper, the ‘LU Gazette,’ and helping to restart a National Association of Black Journalists chapter on campus.

She is also a 2024 Rhoden Fellow.

Robinson said it was an honor to represent her school on this national stage.

She will also participate in NASA’s Minority University Research and Education Project Innovation Tech Transfer Idea competition.

“I’m in teams with other HBCUs across the nation, so I know there’s another person from Lincoln University, and then you have Clark," said Robinson. "So there’s all these amazing students from all these HBCUs, and we’ll all be working together to win this amazing prize from NASA.”

In the competition, students will work to help find solutions to social issues.

Robinson says as a 2024 scholar this year, a big goal of hers is to inspire students to vote in the November election.
