The Muskogee Country District Attorney says two officers who started shooting at an armed suspect during a traffic stop in August will not face criminal charges.
Muskogee County District Attorney Larry Edwards said the two officers' actions were justified because the suspect, Jordan Pierce, was armed and both officers felt their lives were in danger when they started shooting.
Authorities said Pierce was a passenger at the time and pulled a gun from his waistband when officers asked him to step out of the car because he had an outstanding warrant.
Police said Pierce was shot in the finger and checked out at the hospital before being arrested that same night.
He's facing charges of pointing a gun at an officer, knowingly concealing stolen property, possession of a sawed-off shotgun and felony outstanding warrant for drugs.
Police released body camera video of the incident at the end of August.
