Tulsa Traffic Advisories: What You Need To Know (Sept. 11, 2024)

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) and Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) have provided details on several traffic advisories for the Tulsa area and surrounding regions.

Here's what you need to know:

US-75 Narrows Near 36th St. N. Thursday, Friday

Southbound US-75 will be narrowed to one lane north of 36th St. N. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and again from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday for surface repairs.

Creek Turnpike Narrows Between US-75 and Memorial Dr. Daily Through Friday

The left lane of eastbound SH-364/Creek Turnpike will be narrowed intermittently between US-75 and Memorial Dr. from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily through Friday for lighting repairs.

I-44/Will Rogers Turnpike Narrows Near Catoosa Thursday

The left lane of eastbound I-44/Will Rogers Turnpike will be closed between US-412 and Pine St. near Catoosa from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday for right-of-way maintenance.

SH-66 in Wellston Closed as Part of I-44/Turner Turnpike Bridge Widening Project

Both directions of SH-66 will be closed starting at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3 between the off-ramps for I-44/Turner Turnpike (mm 158) in Wellston for up to a year. This closure will occur between SH-102 and US-177 in Lincoln County.

I-44/Turner Turnpike Shoulder Closures Near Heyburn Through Fall

Motorists should expect shoulder closures on I-44/Turner Turnpike between mm 201-203 near Heyburn in Creek County through fall. This is part of a project to widen the turnpike to six lanes. Expect narrow lanes and reduced speed limits through the 6-mile work zone toward Bristow. SH-66 will also be intermittently narrowed near the I-44/Turnpike intersection at mm 202 for new interchange ramp construction.

I-244 Closed Between I-44 and US-75; I-244/US-75 Narrow in West Tulsa

A pavement rehabilitation project on I-244 between I-44 and the Arkansas River bridge in West Tulsa continues through spring 2025. Two lanes will be maintained in each direction during peak travel times. Current closures include:

1. All lanes and on-ramps of eastbound I-244 between I-44 (mm 1A) and US-75 (mm 2) are closed through September 2024.
2. Detour: Use eastbound I-44 to northbound US-75.
3. All lanes and on-ramps of westbound I-244 between US-75 and I-44 are closed through spring 2025.
4. Local access will remain open to 40th Pl./Southwest Blvd. (mm 1D) until further notice.
5. I-244 is narrowed to two lanes in both directions between US-75 and the Arkansas River bridge.
6. The westbound I-244/southbound US-75 off-ramp to 23rd St. is closed.
7. The westbound I-244/southbound US-75 on-ramp from Southwest Blvd. near 23rd St. is closed.
8. 48th St. is closed at Southwest Blvd.

I-244 Narrows to One Lane Near US-75 (NE Corner IDL) Through Summer

Eastbound I-244 will be narrowed to one lane at the US-75 junction on the northeast corner of the Inner Dispersal Loop (IDL) through summer for bridge rehabilitation.

US-75 Off-Ramp to 7th St. (E Leg IDL) Closed Through Summer

The northbound US-75 off-ramp to 7th St. (east leg of the IDL) is closed through summer 2024 for bridge rehabilitation.

US-75 Bridge Construction at 141st St. in Glenpool Through Summer 2025

Drivers on US-75 will experience narrowed and shifted lanes with a reduced speed limit at 141st St. in Glenpool through summer 2025 as part of a bridge construction project. Two lanes will remain open in each direction during peak travel times.

Bridge Rehabilitation on US-412 at 81st W. Ave. in Sand Springs Through February 2025

US-412 is narrowed to two lanes in both directions at 81st W. Ave. in Sand Springs through February 2025 for a bridge rehabilitation project. Current closures include:

1. 81st W. Ave. is narrowed to one lane in both directions at US-412.

Street Widening on 33rd W. Ave. at I-44 Through Summer 2024

A street widening project on 33rd W. Ave. at I-44 continues through summer 2024. Current impacts include:

1. Westbound Skelly Dr. is closed at 33rd W. Ave.

SH-97 Pavement Rehabilitation in Sand Springs Through Spring 2025

SH-97 will undergo pavement reconstruction from S. Main St. to W. 2nd St. in Sand Springs through spring 2025. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained during peak hours.

1. The SH-97 center turn lanes at US-412 are closed until further notice. Access to US-412 remains open.

SH-51 Narrows at Muskogee Turnpike in Broken Arrow

Westbound SH-51 is narrowed to two lanes near the Muskogee Turnpike junction in Broken Arrow through summer 2024 for bridge replacement.

Intersection Improvement at SH-51 and 91st St. in Broken Arrow Through Fall 2024

1. A speed limit reduction is in place on SH-51 near 91st St. in Broken Arrow through fall 2024 as part of an intersection improvement project.
