A man convicted in a deadly Oklahoma robbery over 30 years ago is set to be executed Thursday.
In separate trials in the 90s, a jury determined Glenn Bethany and Emmanuel Littlejohn killed Kenneth Meers during a robbery of Meers convenience store in 1992.
Since then, Littlejohn has argued that while he did participate in the robbery, he did not shoot Meers.
Both prosecutors and Bethany have maintained that Littlejohn pulled the trigger.
In August, Oklahoma’s pardon and parole board recommended clemency for Littlejohn in a 3 to 2 vote. State officials have pressed to keep the scheduled execution. The victim’s family also urged the board to move forward with the execution.
