The Tulsa State Fair petting zoo is a huge hit with kids and grown-ups during these 11 days of Awesome, and there are quite a few new babies in the mix that are adding to the fun.

Alpacas, pigs, and deer are just some of the cool animals at the fair this year.

“We have several types of animals, breeds of goats, sheep. One of our new breeds of sheep is Icelandic; they're one of the most pure breeds in the world,” said Emilie Owen.

The petting farm is put on by Great American Entertainment Company, which also has pig races and pony rides at the fair this year.

"We also have our llama, alpaca, miniature cow, miniature donkey," said Owen. "Everyone loves hanging out with the animals.”

There are baby pigs and goats, and all the babies and friendly animals make it a joy for every age.

“It’s an absolute joy, these animals they've never seen before,” she said. "It’s very exciting for them, and a lot of adults love animals.”

Owner Emilie Owen said her company goes all over the country, and every single day, they’re sanitizing the pen to make it safe for the animals and the people visiting. She said seeing the happiness it brings makes all the hard work all worth it.

The petting zoo is open this weekend and is free with admission, but feeding the animals does cost extra.

You can find them at the Super Duty Arena.

The Great American Petting Zoo is located in the Super Duty Exhibit Hall, and the hours are listed below.
