Roads across Oklahoma still are icy, and it is forcing the majority of Tulsa-area school districts to cancel school on Monday.
The larger districts in the Tulsa-metro have canceled classes, including Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Owasso, Jenks and Union.
See list of school closings. This will be updated as officials call throughout the evening.
Side streets in Jenks and in surrounding neighborhoods are still snow- and ice-covered, which gives it an ice-rink effect.
Administrators in Okmulgee didn't need to test the roads on Sunday morning; they knew driving would be too dangerous on Monday morning.
Administrators said they look at a variety of factors when closing school, and among the top criteria is how slick the streets are and how cold it will be at the bus stop.
School districts running rural bus routes say slick roads and long drive distances pose a danger to their drivers and students.
"Most of our district is urban/city, but we have four routes that run clear out to Okmulgee Lake," OPS Superintendent of Schools Tod Williams said.
"For example, that's a long stretch out there. If a bus gets stuck, slides off in town that's one thing. If they are 15 miles out in the middle of nowhere, that's a big problem."

The low temperatures have made it the ice a mainstay on area streets, and the forecast isn't expected to let up for a few days.
News On 6 WARN Team Meteorologist Dick Faurot says another inch or 2 of snow is possible for late Monday, mainly in the more northern counties from along the Highway 412 corridor into southern Kansas.
With the snow pack, "temperatures will struggle to make it above the freezing mark," Faurot said.
