A $35 million road construction project is scheduled to begin Monday, February 6 in Tulsa. Bridge and pavement rehabilitation will affect Interstate 244 travel for over a year.
Crews from Sherwood Construction will replace six bridge decks and more than four miles of pavement, according to a release from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
The work will be done from the eastern I-244/I-44 split to just west of Memorial Drive.
Drivers should expect lane and ramp closures throughout the project. They're urged to plan ahead and factor in extra travel time.
The project is supposed to take 14 months.
Daily road closures will be posted on NewsOn6.com's Daily Detour web page.
