GRAND LAKE, Oklahoma -- It's been a brutal week of tornadoes, severe storms and hail. While so much attention is focused on the victims of Tuesday's storms, residents around Grand Lake are still dealing with their own bout of severe weather.

Grand Lake's Woodland Shores seemed to be right in the bullseye.

"Their home's totaled up there, they've got minor roof damage down here," Clint Ledbetter said.

This community of vacation and permanent homes took a direct hit from Sunday's tornado.

Carl Reherman's home was twisted and torn apart; his garage door was pushed off its rails.

"It took everything," he said. "It took the walls, it took the fireplace."

Reherman and his wife were home when the storm hit. The couple took shelter in a closet, huddled together and listening as the tornado passing through their home.

"I'll never forget that chomping sound of the trees being hit and then when it hit the house it just shattered like a bomb went off," Reherman said.

The American Red Cross estimates 57 homes in Delaware County were either destroyed or suffered some sort of damage. Along the lakeshore evidence is everywhere.

Gary Weaver has spent much of the past two days trying to figure out how to repair his boat dock. It's one of several in this cove that's now either underwater or tipped over.

"We'll live through it like everybody else does, just rebuild it and go on," he said.

Residents are just thankful no one was seriously injured.

"I didn't get a scratch out of it so it's just stuff, I fully understand that too now, it's the blessing of God. He decided that we deserved another opportunity," Reherman said.
