Suspected Serial Rapist Charged In Federal Court

Suspected serial rapist Leroy Smith has been charged in federal court with aggravated sexual abuse after being arrested recently for 5 rapes that happened in Muskogee.

The rapes occurred in 1993 and 1994.

One woman was raped going to her car after work, one was raped in her garage, as she was leaving for work and the others were all raped inside their homes and their attacker had a gun or knife.

The women didn't know each other or their attacker.

DNA at the time connected all cases to one suspect, but the cases were unsolved for years, until new DNA technology helped break the case last month.
