Officials from the Tulsa Drillers have said that they will continue firework shows after one caused a fire at a Downtown Tulsa construction site over the weekend.

According to a team spokesperson, hundreds of fireworks shows have been done over the years and this was the first time something like this has happened.

Mike Melega from the Tulsa Driller said, "Like a typical firework show, we've been doing them for 40 plus years, kind of a freak incident I guess. An ember, sounds like it from what I heard, an ember caught some insulation materials that were up on the top on fire."

The fire started after the Tulsa Opera performance at ONEOK Field on Friday night, on the top of an apartment building currently under construction.

Tulsa Firefighters were able to put the fire out with no injuries.
