A Bartlesville mom is seeking justice after she said a man exposed himself to her seven-year-old daughter inside a Walmart.
Rabekah Benjamin said this happened in the middle of the crowded Walmart while she was standing right next to her daughter.
"My daughter is standing right next to me and she kindaof taps me on my side and she says, 'Mom,' and I said, 'What's up?' and she was like, 'That man just stuck his thing out at me and he wiggled it.' And I was like, 'What?!’” Benjamin said.
By the time the conversation with her daughter was over, the suspect had walked away. Benjamin and her husband immediately began searching the store but couldn't find him.
"Later on whenever we watched the video, he actually takes off the jacket that he had on and throws it in the back corner and runs all the way to the front and just kind of nonchalantly walks out the front door like he's on his cell phone," Benjamin said.
Bartlesville Police Captain Kevin Ickleberry is worried about how brazen the suspect was to expose himself in the middle of a store and what could happen next time.
"A crime of this nature can quickly change as suspects become bolder. They can go from just exposing themselves to possibly kidnapping," Ickleberry said.
Benjamin's search for the man hasn't stopped, and she said she won't stop until the man is found.
"I don't want anybody else's children - or anybody for that matter - to have to go through this. I mean there's no telling how many children he got to before my daughter that he had been doing that to," Benjmain said. "I'm not going to stop until he's brought to justice.”
Bartlesville Police hope to release security photos of the suspect soon.
