Arrested In Sex Sting, Rogers Co. Man Accused Of Trying To Meet 15-Year-Old For Sex

Rogers County investigators arrested a man in an undercover sex sting, who is accused of trying to meet up with a 15-year-old girl for sex. News On 6’s Reagan Ledbetter rode along with investigators for the arrest.

Investigators said Mardarius Simpson had been messaging who he thought was an underage girl for days, but was really an undercover deputy, using a fake profile.

Documents said during the online conversations Simpson asked what the girls experience was sexually and discussed smoking marijuana with her.

Documents said Simpson asked the girl if she could sneak out to have sex. The undercover deputy and Simpson set a time to meet and investigators were there waiting to take him down. Deputies said they found a loaded gun and marijuana inside Simpson’s car.

Sgt. Bo Williams with the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office said parents need to be aware of who their children are talking to on the internet.

"They are out there. They are fishing every single day. They are looking for vulnerable children. They find them. That’s how we get missing children, and that's how bad things happen to kids right there,” said Sgt. Williams.

"It's textbook to showcase what threats these guys show up with,” said Sheriff Scott Walton. “The fact that these individuals, these youngsters do not know who they are talking to and how dangerous they can be."

Deputies say Simpson told them he knew the girl was 15 but said he had been messaging other girls, so he got confused who he was going to meet. Simpson has been booked into the Rogers County Jail.
