Tulsa Public Schools is looking to fill open positions within multiple departments across the district.
Wednesday's virtual career fair was one of several events happening this spring to spread the word about the jobs.
Each virtual career event is focusing on different departments, Wednesday's focus was on the transportation department and child nutrition.
"We have engagement in our virtual platform all the time," said Quentin Liggins. Liggins is the Director of Talent Development for Tulsa Public Schools.
The district said they are still hiring people the same day, even during the virtual career fairs.
"We know that people when they apply for a job they are out there looking. We need to be as proactive as we can in our response to their application. So that's just extremely important," said SueAnn Bell.
Bell is Tulsa Public School's Facilities Director. She said someone is constantly monitoring the district's career page for new applicants.
Liggins said the biggest need right now is within the transportation department.
"We're always looking for bus drivers we want our students to be safe. We want our students to get to and from school safely and we want great people to welcome them," said Liggins.
Bell said when most people think of working for a school they think of principals and teachers, but TPS said there is so many more people needed to make the school day run smoothly.
She said the school district is hiring year round and they will have another virtual career fair soon.
