During her testimony, 78-year old Vicky McNeely admitted to the jury that she shot and killed her husband, Dan McNeely in 2013 claiming self-defense. Murder charges were filed in 2013, but the trial got delayed over and over again. Prosecutors focused on McNeely's changing details over the past 8 years and pointed to evidence showing that Dan has been shot five times including once in the back of the head.
The jury found her guilty of the lesser charge of first-degree manslaughter and recommended 25 years. Sentencing will be July 13th.
