Bixby Kid Honored After Saving Himself, His Sister From Attempted Carjacking

A young man from Bixby has been honored for his quick thinking and bravery.

In October, Malachi and his younger sister were in a parked car at QuikTrip when someone jumped into the car and started driving away.

Police said before the suspect could hit the gas, the boy quickly got himself and his sister out of the car. The man was quickly arrested.

Malachi was awarded the city’s Citizen Medal of Valor.
