Tulsa is the first stop on a multi-state service tour.
Hundreds of volunteers will be in Tulsa this weekend participating in community service projects for the Send Relief Serve Tour.
Organizers say there are 30 different service projects happening across the city this weekend.
The Serve Tour is a collaboration between local churches, city leaders and local schools to meet needs within the community and Tulsa is the first stop.
Serve Tour says it is designed to give community support and service through specific projects including roofing, painting, landscaping, school improvements, playground remodeling, and events for children and families like kids’ camp, soccer camp and block parties.
Some volunteer teams may also get the chance to work with refugee families and families experiencing homelessness.
Adam Mask, one of the project leaders, said he hopes this unifies the community.
“I pray that meeting these specific needs will truly be a blessing to those that are having those needs met. But, for the city to take notice of the reality that when we come together, like we’ve said, we can accomplish so much more in that capacity,” said Mask.
The projects will take place across the metro area from Jenks to Coweta to the City of Tulsa.
