A Good Read: 'The Irish Assassins' & 'This Is Happiness'

"This is Happiness," by Niall Williams, is a luscious novel set in a small village that has not changed for centuries. An award-winning book is described as a "rural rhapsody."

"The Irish Assassins" by Julie Kavanagh, nonfiction set in 1882 during the Irish Land Wars and a violent murder that destroyed the peace pact, a murder that was funded by American supporters of Irish independence.
