If you're looking for a way to give back, there's a new way to do that heading into 2022.

The Stonebrook Project provides massages for patients going through cancer treatment, and they're opening the door for others to help. Edie Tolbert is the owner of the Stonebrook Day Spa and founder of the Stonebrook Project.

She's a cancer survivor. Thirteen years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and two years later, she opened the spa. Her non-profit provides complementary oncology massage therapy to men and women going through cancer treatment.

Tolbert says massages help with pain, fatigue, and nausea. Plus, the therapists are certified to know what each patient needs. She says this can also help emotionally like relieving stress and anxiety from the diagnosis. This summer, the non-profit launched Project Partners where people can pay for a client's oncology massage.

It can either be a monthly commitment or a donation anytime. So far, 33 clients are sponsored, and Tolbert hopes to reach 50 by the new year.

"I wanted to find a way to give back to those going through cancer because of how people poured into my life,” Tolbert said. "These massage therapy services help them navigate; it gives them some type of control when things are so out of control."

Stonebrook Day Spa also offers full services to paying clients. So, if you get a pedicure or massage, you're ultimately helping the patients.
