Tulsa Production Company Films Podcast-TV Series In Downtown Claremore

A Tulsa video production company spent two days filming episodes of a podcast-television series in Claremore this week. All of the production and sets have created lots of buzz from people living in the area.

City leaders with knowledge of the project say specific details cannot be released yet, but the series includes a well-known actor. Two episodes were shot in different buildings on Claremore’s main street, including at Dot’s Café and Sailor Antiques and Collectibles.

“They’re filming what’s supposed to take place in Los Angeles,” said Ashley May, Claremore Area Chamber of Commerce. “Through the magic of the movies, they’re going to make snowy downtown Claremore look like California.”

May says the city was approached about the idea last month. She hopes the city will become a destination for other filmmakers.

The production has generated lots of interest from people living in Claremore. Leaders say it also provides an economic boost.

“There’s people on the corner and everyone’s in their shop windows looking out,” said May. “It’s been fun to be a part of that.”

Brenda Reno runs the antique store that was used during filming one of the episodes.

“The crew would run in and they’d fix this or fix that and they’d do a retake,” said Reno. “It’s always fun to see stuff like that in Claremore.”
