Sen. James Inhofe Announces Resignation Plans, Endorses Chief of Staff As Candidate

Senator Jim Inhofe announced that he plans to resign from the US Senate effective Jan. 3. 2023.

Inhofe's departure means Oklahoma will have two Senate seats up for election at the same time, and it's likely to trigger other elected officials to try a run for higher office though none of them have announced anything yet. On Friday, he endorsed his Chief of Staff Luke Holland to be his replacement.
