The Rogers County Undersheriff is being recognized for starting mental health programs in the jail.
Undersheriff Jon Sappington has been named the "Law Enforcement Administrator of the Year" by the Grand Lake Mental Health Center.
He implemented different programs in the jail, like helping people get proper treatment, providing crisis intervention and providing resources for detention officers.
"Giving them the tools and resources they need to adequately do their job, this award is a very humbling award and I'm grateful for the opportunity," said Sappington.
Sappington says his next goal is to start a Crisis Intervention Team.
