A new service will help people looking for a job, get a job.

Retrain Tulsa offers free professional coaching, training, and workshops. Ascension St. John is one of the businesses partnering with Retrain Tulsa. They currently have 500 openings and hope this service can help them fill those positions. Retrain Tulsa wants to bring hope to people looking for a career change.

“You have a lot of smart, talented people that have been working in a career for 10 – 15 years that have never had to put together a resume, never had to interview, or never had to dust off their LinkedIn and then they finally come to this moment where they need help and so they can come to us and we can actually help them do that," said Steve Tumpkin.

Tumpkin said all of the services are free and they partner with Tulsa businesses which will mean helping the community grow.

“Virtually every major employer that I’ve talked to in Tulsa could grow tomorrow if they knew they had the trained workforce today. It is easily the greatest economic development challenge that we face as a community," said Mayor G.T. Bynum.

They're working with everyone from the Tulsa Fire Department to Ascension St. John to find workers.

“Supporting them through training, navigating all of those things that they might not be aware of. It’s not just nursing, it's radiology, it's respiratory therapy, and the industry is very broad. Retrain Tulsa will help us connect adults that want those opportunities," said Jennifer Workman with Ascension St. John.

Retrain Tulsa said they're already seeing some success stories and want to help people any way they can.

“Sometimes people need help with the language or the style of their resume. How to connect and how to apply better tools on LinkedIn and we do all of that. We’ll take a look at where they’re currently at and we’ll help them apply best practices," said Tumpkin.

He said the goal of Retrain Tulsa is to match 500 people with employers within the first two years of opening.
