In the United States, it is the 12th leading cause of death in adults and one of the leading causes of death for people ages 15 to 24. Suicide is a worldwide public health crisis and that is why September is Suicide Awareness Month. In the United States, it is the 12th leading cause of death in adults and one of the leading causes of death for people ages 15 to 24.
