PSO said this is its biggest response to a power outage since the ice storm in 2007.

PSO expects all of its customers in Tulsa to have power restored by Saturday. As far as folks in places like Chouteau, Vinita and Grove who use PSO, they should expect power back by this Wednesday.

“It’s a monumental effort,” PSO spokesperson Wayne Greene said.

For people without power, it's a relief to see new power poles ready to be put to use.

"We believe that more than 700 poles were broken,” Greene said.

Greene said it is getting help from nearly 3,000 people from 20 states, who are all ready to work day and night to get the lights back on.

"This is gonna be a long, multi day rebuild,” Greene said.

"Fingers crossed it'll be faster than that,” Tulsa resident Teresa Hubbard said.

Hubbard lives near 21st and Harvard. Her neighbor's tree fell on her dad's truck, after he came over to use her shelter Saturday night.

Despite also having a tree on her house, Teresa and her roommate are getting by with a couple of coolers, while they wait for the power to come back on.

“So we got lunch meat, cheese, and a little cream cheese -- this is actually just what was in the refrigerator. Some grapes, ice,” she said.

Across midtown, it's a spotty, stop and go situation, as many street lights are out and roads are closed.

At 32nd and Harvard, drivers make their way around a fallen tree and power lines, as everyone zig zags through town, on the hunt for storm related essentials.

"We got to Sand Springs because nobody has any ice or gas,” Hubbard said.

OG & E said about 29,000 customers are still without power. Other providers like Verdigris Valley Electric and Northeast Oklahoma Electric Co-Op each have about 2,000 customers still without service.
