The Tulsa Fire Department is warning people about the dangers of using generators too close to their homes. Officials say hazmat crews have responded to nearly two dozen Carbon Monoxide calls this week because of this.
Firefighters say homeowners should never use a generator indoors, and if a generator is used for a home, it should be kept at least 20 feet away from windows, doors and vents.
Carbon monoxide poisoning symptoms include headache, dizziness, fatigue and being disoriented.
