A grass fire in Washington County had five departments responding after smoke could be seen for miles from Highway 75.
This is in Ramona off West 3350 Road, also known as Wyandotte Road.
A neighbor called it in just before 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon.
A News On 6 crew got there even before firefighters did and saw the fire trying to jump the road, which would have been concerning for nearby structures.
The Ramona fire chief says five departments were able to help contain it in about 20 minutes.
Firefighters think about 10 acres burned and the department is still looking into the cause of the fire.
While fire crews are investigating the cause of the fire, they’re reminding everyone to be extra careful with starting fires and littering since it’s been so dry.
