Free Morning Meals From Big Country 99.5 Brightens Regulars' Day

Every week this month, folks from Big Country 99.5 are surprising people with a free breakfast they call Rise and Dine.

It was business as usual at the Port City Diner.

Regulars like Robbie Burns sit in the same spot and don't even need to look at a menu.

"I get the Denver Omelet, side of chili, biscuit and gravy," he said.

Little does Robbie realize a surprise is waiting for him and other customers just outside.

"Today we're going to do something called Rise and Dine," AB Brittain said.

"We are going to be going into Port City Diner here and surprising some folks and buying them breakfast," said Tanner Messer.

AB and Tanner work for the Big Country radio station, 99.5. They have $150 to spend on meals.

"We are going to spend until we run out of it," Tanner said.

It didn't take long.

What was just a normal day for Robbie and the others was made a little sweeter.

"Kind of surprised me, but I will take it. It's not done enough these days, people doing something for other people, and it's really nice," Robbie said.

Once the money was spent, AB and Tanner wanted to see why so many people love this place, becoming new regulars already.

Rise and Dine will be going on every Thursday for the month of December.
