Teenager Injured, Suspect At-Large Following Shooting In Tulsa

A shooting on New Year's Day left a 17-year-old injured as authorities search for the suspects in Tulsa.

Tulsa Police say they found the victim in the middle of the street in a neighborhood near 56th and Peoria. Officers say the victim was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, including one in the head, leaving them in critical condition.

Police have not given an update on the victim at this time. Police found multiple casings of different calibers, but no weapons were found in the area, which is why investigators say there could be more than one suspect. 

Police say that during the investigation, officers learned that the victim arrived at the location to sell a firearm and that an altercation led up to the shooting.

Officers have not released a description of any suspects and say they do not have anyone in custody. 

“We're out in the area, the helicopter is up, K9 has been out, so we’ll continue the investigation and see where it goes,” Tulsa Police Department’s Lieutenant Michelle Armentrout said.

News On 6 crews heard more gunshots in the area when they arrived, but police say they do not believe they are related. Officers say this is an ongoing investigation.
