The Jenks High School Trojan Band is back home after being in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.

Many of those band members will be returning to class Thursday morning and after flying back into Tulsa Wednesday night from what they call a trip of a lifetime.

This was the second time in eight years the Trojan Pride has been selected to play in the Rose Bowl Parade.

The 200 Jenks students were part of the nearly 20 bands selected to play on New Year's Day.

The students also spent the week going to Universal Studios, the beach, and the San Diego Zoo.

Students said it took a long time to get everything together to make this performance and trip happen.

"The Jenks Band worked really, really hard. Everyone put in their best foot. And they really did their best that day during the parade, to march. They honestly just had such a great time, and they worked so hard for it. We were doing practices months in advance and it was just really great," said Kate Alexander with the Jenks Band.

They said they are proud of each other for all of the work they put in to get to this point.

"It was really cool. Because we've been out there for six months waiting for this moment and I'm happy that we finally got to do it," said Brody Means, a student in the Jenks Band.
