Hundreds of soccer players gathered at Bixby High School on Saturday for a special soccer tournament.

It's a fundraiser Bixby has hosted for several years.

This year, it's rebranded as the Kinsey Wright Winter Cup to honor the district's 15-year-old goalie who died in a car crash last October.

Sponsors, coaches, players and teammates came together to remember Kinsey.

Her family was there and said soccer was a big part of her life.

"Kinsey loved soccer it brought her so much joy, kind of her way of getting away from everything, the way she said it was when she was playing soccer, all the problems of the world went away," her parents Krista and Damon Wright said.

The tournament had 55 teams compete in one of the largest turnouts the event's ever had.

Bixby's team said the tournament will be known as the Kinsey Wright Winter Cup from now on.
