Valentine's Day is two weeks away and the Rogers County Sheriff's Office is spreading love to women in need.
They're once collecting purses for women who have experienced domestic violence and there's a way you can help, too.
Jody Moore and her team at SafeNet Services work around the clock to help women during their time of need.
She said survivors of domestic violence are often forced to pick up and leave their situation with nothing but what they can carry.
"A lot of times survivors feel unseen," said SafeNet Executive Director Jody Moore. "They don't have people in their corner that are cheering them on. A lot of times they feel isolated from other individuals and they don't have a good support network."
But Moore wants them to know they have people ready to help them, including Rogers County sheriff.
"That's why we partner with SafeNet Services," said Scott Walton, the Rogers County Sheriff.
RCSO started a drive eight years ago to give these women dignity and hope by providing them with purses.
They fill them with items like hand sanitizer, tissues, and notes of encouragement.
"We have people who give designer purses and they are like 'I have never had anything like this in my life,' and with the little goodie bags that are given inside the purses, they just feel special and loved and it's a small way we can give back to survivors," Moore said.
Not only providing something they can carry but comfort knowing people want to support them.
The last day to donate is Friday, Feb. 9th.
You can take the purses to the Rogers County Sheriff's Office or SafeNet Services.
