Aim High Academy is getting a new head coach.

This person has seen the gym at its best and its worst, like after the tornado of 2015.

The tornado wiped out the original building with several gymnasts taking shelter inside, but they all survived.

That scary moment is not stopping one of those girls from coming back in her new role.

With every high kick and walk across the beam, these little gymnasts are striving to reach their dreams.

Whether that's a perfect ten or being an Olympian, Jennifer Bjornberg is there to help.

"They are all so different and all need to be motivated in different ways," said Aim High Academy Executive Director Jennifer Bjornberg.

Jennifer started Aim High Academy 17 years ago.

She says it's hard to imagine how many people she's helped since.

"When I first started Aim High I didn't even know if they were going to have a team. I just felt called to offer the wonderful sport of gymnastics to children who couldn't afford it. I never in a million years dreamed that I would be standing in a facility like this," Bjornberg said.

Friday was different than most practices for Jennifer because of a big announcement for the girls; their new coach is Sheridan Ramsey, an OU gymnast.

"It's fun to come back and be able to push these girls to pursue their dreams," Ramsey said.

Sheridan was at one point one of these little girls coached by Jennifer for more than a decade.

Now, she's a two-time national champion at the University of Oklahoma.

"This is a full circle moment and now I get to meet girls that are trying to do what I did and so it's so cool that I am now on the other side of it and being able to help people reach their goals," Ramsey said.

Showing these girls that anything, a perfect score or wearing a red, white and blue leotard, is possible.

Sheridan is still competing, she has her senior meet this Sunday, March 17th.

But once she graduates, she will head back to Tulsa and take the head coaching job on May 20th.
