The Cherokee and Choctaw Nations are holding their annual tribal celebrations this weekend.
The 72nd annual Cherokee National holiday kicked off in Tahlequah.
There will be lots of events all over Tahlequah and the surrounding area.
The festival runs until Sunday night, with a fireworks show around dusk.
The Choctaw Labor Day Festival also kicked off on Friday in Tuskahoma.
As part of the festival, the tribe unveiled its new Eternal Heart Sculpture, honoring the relationship between the Choctaw Nation and the Nation of Ireland. Tribal and state leaders were joined by dignitaries from Ireland for the unveiling.
The 8-foot sculpture, built by a Choctaw artist, combines the Celtic Trinity shape with a heart.
