A federal judge sentenced a Broken Arrow man to more than 17 years in prison for having over six pounds of meth and fentanyl.

Tulsa Police stopped cousins Gary and Shelly McElroy for having an expired tag last October and saw a large box with baggies of drugs inside.

They said the two sped off and threw the box out of the car before officers caught up to them.

Shelly was also sentenced to more than 24 years in prison last month.
