Broken Arrow held a ceremonial groundbreaking on the new Sunset Amphitheater on Friday.

When complete, it will seat up to 12,500 people.

The $93 million project is being paid for by a public-private partnership with the city and a group called "Venu".

The two teamed up for a big celebration on Friday night featuring live music from Oklahoma's Own King Cabbage Brass Band.

"It was my grandma’s birthday, and she decided to come out here because she wanted to street dance, which I have no idea why, but she chose to!" said David Dopp, an attendee.

A lot of people will be dancing when the amphitheater opens. That'll be some time next year.
