‘Left Right Left’: Radio Show Started By Oklahoma Veteran, For Veterans

A Green Country Veteran has started a radio show to support other veterans and connect them with resources they may need. 

Ramal Brown said he started the “Left Right Left” radio show so veterans can easily find resources that can help them to adapt to life outside of the military. 

"Getting out of the military, there are challenges for a lot of veterans, returning back home, and finding the resources available to them as veterans," Brown said. 

Brown is an army veteran who served in Iraq. He said starting the show is therapy for him, and it combines his passion for radio with his passion for helping others. 

"Talk therapy is a great thing, talking out your issues and situations, and one thing I learned from going to the VA is the more you talk about your situation and things that happened, the smaller it gets," he said. 

The show has veterans as guests each week to talk about issues like PTSD and offers resources for families of veterans. 

Brown said this experience has already taught him so much, and he wants to share everything he learns with others. 

"I've learned about so many organizations; I've learned about the full spectrum of veterans and what they deal with coming back home," Brown said. 

Brown said he hopes to continue doing the show as long as he can to continue to help those who have given so much to our country.

"It does my heart so well just to hear stories and to see people thrive, and to build camaraderie between veterans," Brown said. 

The show airs every Thursday at 4 p.m. on KBOB, 89.9.
