A local entrepreneur is bringing more ethical shopping to Tulsa. Her business, called TROVE, will be in a pop-up shop at the Shops at Mother Road Market until the end of the month.
“Our brand is TROVE, which means a place of delight,” said TROVE owner Kara Moseby. "We say we are an ethical fashion brand where kindness never goes out of style.”
The Limited Time Only Market at Tulsa’s Mother Road Market is full of different, local business owners and artists each year. TROVE takes over the space for the month of July.
"I want people to have the opportunity to try ethical fashion. Actually having a brick-and-mortar store where you can come in and try on ethical pieces is so huge," said Moseby.
She said her company’s priorities are what sets her apart.
"All the products that you would buy from TROVE are ethically sourced. So, the men and women who make these products are paid a livable wage, are working in safe working conditions," said Moseby. “We also partner with a zero-waste factory and a solar powered factory so being kind to the planet.”
Here in the United States or internationally, Moseby has relationships with the people who make each piece she sells.
"These are the sandals, ethically-sourced leather and then upcycled tires," said Moseby. "These t-shirts were actually screen printed by the Women in Recovery at John 3:16 Mission."
Moseby said she picks many pieces with working moms in mind, who might be going from playing with their kids, right to a business meeting.
“Kid-proof. So, my job is to try to destroy every piece that comes in, to see how it is going to work,” Moseby said.
