A Green Country woman is bringing her homemade cobblers to Tulsa's Greenwood District.

Cobbler Mom is opening in just a few weeks. The owner tells News On 6's Sawyer Buccy people wanting to do Something Good for her, are making the grand-opening all the more meaningful. This isn't just a cobbler to Joyce Horton. This is love.

"Their family member who has gone on, who made it for them. I am hoping they feel that kind of love because that is what I feel when I am making it for them," said Horton.

Joyce comes from a cooking and baking family. She started making her own cobbler 30 years ago so her son would have a homemade dessert he could grow up eating.

That passion turned into a business called Cobbler Mom.

"I really love my customers and I make them feel like they have a place at home, to eat," said Horton.

Cobbler Mom has had a location near 66th Street North and Peoria for years. Customers who want to order online cam now go there.

"I do four cobblers online, I do peach, blackberry, apple, and cherry," said Horton.

On August 21st- Cobbler Mom is hitting Greenwood for in-person customers. You can stop by that location and pick up a sweet treat by the slice or by the pan.

"It means a lot to me, giving back to the community. Showing young black girls that they can attain success through hard work," said Horton.

Joyce has come up with some delicious recipes for the new location.

"We have The Greenwood which consists of antioxidant berries- strawberries, blueberries, raspberry," said Horton.

Joyce's son started a Go Fund Me for his mom's business to re-open off of Greenwood.

"I just want to thank the people who gave to me and believed in me," said Horton.

They surpassed their goal by thousands of dollars and because of each one of those donations, Cobbler Mom is just weeks away from a fresh start.

"I am just thankful all the way around! I didn't know cobbler was appreciated so much!" said Horton.
