The residents at Green Country Village are proof that having fun has no age limit.
Jenga, dancing, and a friendly game of cornhole are just a few of the activities that seniors in Bartlesville got to enjoy.
Ann Swieter even got a visit from her family. "It's good for everybody to get out and get around," Swieter said.
She said they also enjoyed the activities. "I always look forward to having a good time with them," Swieter said.
Jack York is the founder of Tale Gate. His company travels around the country making stops at senior living facilities.
His team sets up a playground for the older adults to enjoy as they document some of the residents' life experiences.
"People, wherever they are physically or cognitively, whatever age they are, still want to have fun," York said.
York said it's important to help change the stereotype of older adults.
Sheryl Kenimer, executive director of Green Country Village, said she’s happy the residents got to enjoy something like this.
"What we try to do is to let the community know that being a senior is about thriving," Kenimer said.
Ms. Sandy Burchett is in her 80s and loves being active and being able to enjoy the people in her community. "I love to entertain and be entertained," Burchett said.
This is the only stop Tale Gate is making in Oklahoma and residents were excited for the chance to have some fun.
