Progress Update On Yale Widening Project In Tulsa

A huge project to widen Yale between 81st and 91st is getting closer to being finished.

This stretch of Yale has been under construction for more than two years, but crews here have made huge progress transforming this hill to make room for more lanes.

What used to be a two-lane road will be 6 lanes with other improvements like sidewalks, turn lanes, and large protection walls on either side of the road.

With funding coming from Improve Our Tulsa, this project is costing the city just under $30 million, one of the largest road projects in Tulsa’s history.

Right now, one lane in each direction will be open for drivers with left turns allowed at 81st and 91st Street.

The entire project is expected to wrap up this June.
